Most cats prefer to use a litterbox. If your cat is litterbox trained and suddenly starts going elsewhere, it is most likely due to a health problem, stress, or a change in the cat's environment. Is the litter fresh and clean? Does the kitty have enough privacy?

We prefer a good clumping car litter. It is more expensive to start with, but is easier to clean and lasts much longer than the non-clumping types. Because it lasts longer, it actually turns out to be less expensive, despite a higher price per container.
